Here are my passions.
1. Desserts
This is no surprise to those who follow my Sweet Tooth Board on Pinterest! I love making them, eating them, reading about them, taking photos of them.
Coconut Blueberry Cookies, homemade!
2. Photography
I’ve always loved taking pictures. I confess, I’m not very good at it – yet. I haven’t committed to a DSLR – yet. But, I love practicing on my Canon PowerShot SX30 IS! Taking pictures like these….
3. Writing
I feel like I’ve been writing forever. When I was a teenager, I wrote (bad) poems and poured my heart out into my diary. When I was a young adult, I wrote sarcastic prose about my observations of city life and all its pretensions. When I was working, I wrote proposals, press releases, advertorials and other equally stimulating drivel. Now, I have this blog. A novel, next?

4. Making Lists Yes, list making is a passion. I believe in lists. It keeps me focused, organized and dizzy with anticipation. I know, that’s bordering on OCD. My husband would not disagree. Even my About Me page is a list.

5. Quotes It should be obvious by now that I love quotes. To say so much in so few words.This is one of my favorite quotes.

6. Pinterest
My new lover, Pinterest. There are so many posts out there about why it’s brilliant and why we all love it. I love the new words that pop up from Pinterest users- Pinteresting, Pintercouse, Pintervention. It’s like smorgasbord of all things beautiful and desirable. 7. Fashion
I am no fashionista. In fact, I shared my fashion disasters recently, but at least I’ve learned my lesson. Basically, no red tracksuits (they make you look like Sue Sylvester), no oversized tees with huge graphics, no brown on brown layering, and no tie-dyed anything. Instead, make like a fashion loving Mama and wear awesome things. Like so.

8. Shoes
Related to fashion, but deserving of its own place on this list, don’t you think?

9. Reading
As long as I can remember, I’ve always been a reader. I devoured books by Enid Blyton when I was a child (The Faraway Tree, anyone?), dived into Nancy Drew and The Famous Five, attempted massive autobiographies I found at the library when I was a teenager, and read copious amounts of thriller and mystery books when I was in university. I love fantasy novels like the series by George R.R. Martin – you may have heard of it – Song of Ice & Fire series, with the first book ‘Game of Thrones’ made into a TV series. And now, on my vacation, I’m reading Tina Fey’s Bossypants, Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? and yes, a little late to the party, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.
