You are three months old (and a bit).
You are 14 pounds, 8 ounces and nearly 24 inches tall.
You are smiling and giggling.
You are rolling on your side and trying to sit up.
You like to push up with your legs.
By all accounts, it appears that you’re in a hurry to grow up.
I think it’s because you see your big brother running around, doing things that you can watch from the sidelines.
You want to jump in and join in.
You love your big brother.
Your eyes light up, your mouth curls up into a smile when you see him, and when you don’t, you search for him when you hear his voice.
Much as I can’t wait to see you play together, I ask you one thing, my baby boy.
Don’t be in a rush to grow up.
Take it one day at a time.
Because I am.
I’m taking in every cuddle. Every smile. Every kiss. Every milestone you come to.
I’m enjoying everything about your babyhood that I didn’t quite manage to with your brother.
I was too busy worrying about this thing or that thing.
Silly Mama.
Now, I know better. This is the gift your brother gave to us.
He taught me it’s okay to slow down and savor the small moments, that there really is nothing to worry about.
So here I am, celebrating you at 3 months.
I love you Scrumplet, with the whole of my being.
xo, Mama
